Steak Soup by Maya Nassar

(Makes four servings)


400g of beef

1 bay leaf

1 cup barley

2 potatoes

2 celery sticks

2 onions

2 carrots

1 sprig thyme

1 sprig rosemary

2 sprigs parsley


Cook meat in a pan with 1 liter of water until it starts to boil. Add bay leaf and allspice berries and cook for 30 minutes. Add barley to meat and cook for 10 minutes before mixing in vegetables and herbs. Heat for 20 minutes until vegetables are tender. Chop meat and serve as a soup.
