Under the patronage of the Minister of Youth and Sports Brigadier Abdul-Muttaleb Al Hinawi, the fitness expert and trainer Maya Nassar announced her official participation in an international bodybuilding competition in London and the launch of the first free mobile application of its kind that includes information and guidelines related to sports and nutrition called Start Living Right.

The official announcement occurred during a press conference held at the “Blu Port” restaurant in “Zeitouna Bay” in Beirut, in the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports General Abdel Muttaleb Hinawi, Minister of Environment Mohammed Mashnouq, Minister of Culture Rony Areiji, Tony Sleiman Frangieh, the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee Brigadier General Hassan Rustom, the President of the Beirut Marathon Association May El Khalil, the Head of the Yacht Union Commodore Edmond Chaghoury, the President of the Lebanese Shooting Federation Pierre Jalkh, the President of the Lebanese Ski Federation Charbel Saleme, members of associations, heads and members of clubs and the family and friends of Trainer Maya Nassar as well as journalists and media representatives.

The press conference began with the Lebanese National Anthem, followed by a short documentary on Nassar, presenting her as an active contributor to the sports sector.

Speaking at the press conference, Bassam El Turk, General Manager of “Sport Evasion” said, “Maya Nassar is a strong-willed sportswoman who shows determination, sacrifice and training and I consider her a real athlete. She combined her nutrition expertise and her physical efforts to become world-renowned when she won an international bodybuilding competition that took place in London in 2014. Our journey together began when I read about her in the newspaper she agreed to take part in the sports calendar announced before the end of last year featuring 12 top Lebanese athletes. Maya now has over a hundred thousand fans following her on social media and here we are announcing the launch of a free mobile application, the first of its kind in Lebanon, that comprises information and guidelines related to fitness and nutrition”.

Maya Nassar thanked Minister Al Hinawi for endorsing her in the upcoming international bodybuilding competition in April. “The application we are announcing today is unprecedented in Lebanon and remained among top applications for ten days. From the overweight lady I once was, I have turned into a lady with a distinctive body and I’ve completed my achievement by winning the title at a world bodybuilding event in London last year. My mission is to spread the joy and happiness that comes from living a healthy lifestyle”. Nassar stressed that the application is free, adding that it is the result of everything she has learnt through trial and error.

On two giant screens, Nassar demonstrated the usage of the mobile application.

In his closing speech, Minister Al Hinawi stated “through the launch of this application, Maya Nassar wished to reach all generations and particularly the youth, by providing them with sports-related information and guidelines. It is a courageous initiative that Maya Nassar took here. I urge the Lebanese people to make the most of this application and I thank Maya for this accomplishment”.

Nassar then answered the questions of journalists and the event ended with a gala dinner in the honor of the attendees.
